Dean E. Schraufnagel, M.D., is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep, and Allergy at the University of Illinois Chicago. He has authored more than 200 works and edited four books. A champion of global health, he has spoken out for clean air, tobacco control, tuberculosis eradication, respiratory health in the workplace, and universal healthcare in the U.S. Congress, the World Health Organization, and the United Nations.
